Scratch Ankle 100
The Scratch Ankle leaves from the Bear Lake Recreation Area, and rides a mixture of sandy red clay and paved roads of Blackwater River State Forest and Conecuh National Forest. The route travels through terrain with gently rolling forest roads, longleaf pine/wiregrass ecosystem (one of the largest continuous systems still remaining in Florida) and will include segments of single-track trails.
The Scratch Ankle provides multiple options for cyclists of all backgrounds and levels. There will be distance options of 30, 62 (100km), and 100 mi. All rides include rest stops, route marking and SAG support.
Amateur Radio support has been requested for this event. Jon Holladay is heading up the effort. To volunteer, drop him an email.
